From a YouTube link to focused practice

1. Choose your song. Paste a YouTube video link into BARS.
2. Find one measure. Mark a loop from one downbeat to the next to set the tempo and grid.
3. Practice in small sections. Mark bars, slow down playback, and loop a difficult passage before moving on.

Build the part you want to play or sing

Repeat a guitar phrase, work on the timing of a rap verse, or rehearse a vocal passage. Use the metronome to hear the pulse and organize bars into parts. If you are practicing vocals, you can paste your own lyrics and attach them to bars.

Before you start

Can I slow down and loop a YouTube video?

Yes. BARS lets you repeat sections and select from the playback speeds supported by the YouTube video. Playback stays inside the YouTube player; BARS does not download or separate the audio.

Is BARS only for rap?

No. BARS works for music practice across instruments and vocals. Its tempo grid and bar controls are designed for passages you can count in measures.

Is it free, and do I need an account?

BARS is free to use without an account. You just need a browser, an internet connection, and a YouTube video that allows embedded playback.

Where is my practice saved?

Your practice session is saved in this browser on this device. It does not sync between devices and can be lost if you clear browser storage. The embedded player connects to YouTube, and fonts load from Google Fonts.

Does BARS generate lyrics or detect the tempo?

You mark a measure to establish the tempo and can paste lyrics yourself. BARS does not automatically transcribe songs or generate lyrics.
